GME Program Lengths
Residency Programs Accredited by the ACGME
The UT College of Medicine - Chattanooga sponsors nine (9) residency programs as part of the University of Tennessee Statewide Network of Graduate Medical Education. All residency programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We are also awaiting a site visit and official approval for a Neurology Residency beginning July 2023.

Fellowship Programs Accredited by the ACGME
The UT College of Medicine - Chattanooga currently sponsors six fellowship programs accredited by the ACGME as part of the University of Tennessee Statewide Network of Graduate Medical Education.

Emergency Medical Services | 1 year (Sponsored by the Department of Emergency Medicine -- Must have completed a three-year Emergency Medicine Residency prior to entering) |
Gastroenterology | 3 years (Sponsored by the Department of Medicine -- Must have completed a three-year Internal Medicine Residency prior to entering) |
Surgical Critical Care | 1 year (Sponsored by the Department of Surgery -- Occurs six months into the 4th year of a Surgery Residency through the end of six months into the 5th year of a Surgery Residency) |
Vascular Surgery | 2 years (Sponsored by the Department of Surgery -- Must have completed at least a five-year Surgery Residency prior to entering |
Non-Standard Fellowship Programs
The UT College of Medicine - Chattanooga currently sponsors six fellowship programs which are considered Non-Standard -- either accredited by a non-ACGME related entity or society or not accredited by any official body.
