The University of Tennessee Health Science Center has educated:
- 75 percent of the state’s dentists
- 40 percent of its pharmacists
- 40 percent of the physicians
- and the lion’s share of the nursing faculty working in the state today.
About 80 percent of our Health Professions graduates stay in Tennessee.
UTHSC is a member of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Electronic Campus for distance education courses, programs and services offered through many institutions
of higher education in the southeastern United States.

Today, our Colleges of Dentistry, Graduate Health Sciences, Health Professions , Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy serve more than 3,000 students and 1,300 residents, post docs and fellows across four campuses.
