Prior Institutional Healthcare Principles in Practice Series

Each year the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga sponsors an Institutional Core Curriculum.  Until July 2023, it was called our Healthcare Principles in Practice Series (HPP).  2022-2023 Academic Year sessions returned to in-person sessions conducted in Probasco Auditorium (Ground Floor, Erlanger Medical Mall).  The Zoom platform was used for those who could not attend in person.

The purpose of the HPP Series is to augment overall Resident and Fellow Graduate Medical Education in areas that are applicable to all disciplines and specialties. These HPP sessions were usually held the 2nd Tuesday of each month (Noon - 1 pm ET) and focus on general, broad-based topics such as those relating to Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, Well-Being, Professionalism, Sleep and Fatigue Mitigation, Prescribing, Substance Abuse, etc. Most sessions are recorded with permission from the speakers and uploaded to the UTHSC College of Medicine Chattanooga YouTube Channel.  AMA Category 1 CME Credit was available for faculty who attended either the live session or live Zoom.   All Faculty, Residents, Fellows, and Students are encouraged to attend HPP sessions; however, all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year Residents and Fellows are required to attend or view the recording at a later time.  Links are emailed to Program Coordinators once available.
