Blair Brawley, MD

Bio
Dr. Brawley is a Tennessee native, born and raised in East TN. She graduated from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, where she received her BS in Biology. After graduation, she returned to her home state to attend medical school at UTHSC. She is extremely excited to stay in Memphis, TN, and begin her residency in Medicine/Pediatrics! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Nicholas, and two cats, Cricket and George. She loves walking at Tom Lee Park, binge-watching TV, and exploring new restaurants in Downtown!

Paul Duesing, MD

Bio
Dr. Duesing grew up in the South Side of Chicago. He took a gap year after high school, met his wife on The World Race, and moved to East Tennessee 10 years ago. He completed his bachelor's degree in microbiology at the University of Tennessee--Knoxville before attending medical school at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. Outside of medicine, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, reading, hobby farming, woodworking, making bourbon, spending time outdoors, and golfing.

Lauren Elliott-Mullens, DO

Bio
Dr. Elliott-Mullens was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Bend, Oregon and New Braunfels, Texas. She attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, and went on to complete medical school at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee. She proudly calls herself mom to the cutest cat, Mila. In her free time, she enjoys needlepoint projects and reformer Pilates classes. She also has a passion for travel, with a goal of collecting passport stamps from all six inhabited continents, though a trip to Antarctica remains high on her list despite the lack of a stamp. She plans to further her career as either a combined hospitalist or in a combined outpatient clinic setting.

Eleanor Fontana, MD

Bio
Dr. Fontana was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She attended Rhodes College in Memphis for her undergraduate degree, where she earned a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Health Sciences. She then returned to Missouri for medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine - Columbia. In her free time, she loves reading, traveling, playing with her cat Rupert, watching hockey (Go Blues!), and spending time with her family and friends. She is very excited to return to Memphis for residency, continue to explore the city, and experience all that is new since her time away.

Steven Joseph, MD

Bio
Dr. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, NY, to parents who immigrated from Haiti and spent his early childhood there before his family relocated to Nashville, TN. At Middle Tennessee State University, he earned both his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Master of Science degree in Professional Science with a biotechnology concentration. He subsequently completed his medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. In his free time, he enjoys dancing salsa and bachata, going to church, working out, watching professional basketball and football, and learning foreign languages. He plans to further his career by pursuing an Internal Medicine gastroenterology fellowship, with an interest in global health and addressing healthcare disparities.

Shelby Lindsey, MD

Dr. Lindsey was born and raised in Shannon, MS. She received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Mississippi State University. She then moved to Memphis to attend medical school at UTHSC. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs! Shelby is excited to be continuing her medical education in Memphis!

Anastazia Prost, MD

Bio
Anastazia Prost hails from Columbia, Missouri attending the University of Missouri (Miz!) for undergrad majoring in both Biology and Latin American Studies. Upon graduation, feeling too antsy in CoMo, Stazi decided to move to another Colombia, specifically Bogotá, to continue her love of teaching English and traveling while also honing in on her Spanish language skills. Two years later, after getting her South America fix for the time being, Stazi moved to Chicago to pursue a dual MD/MPH degree at Loyola University with a Global Health Equity concentration. There, she found a passion for refugee health care and asylum work, themes she hopes to incorporate into her future global health career. Always on the lookout for her next adventure, Stazi is thrilled to continue her medical journey in Memphis. The UT community and Memphis pride are top tier. Plus, the food scene, the southern roadtrips planned, and the beautiful Tennessee outdoors are already calling her name!

Margaret Shepherd, MD

Bio
Dr. Shepherd grew up in Mount Juliet, TN but is a proud Mississippi State Bulldog and maintains strong ties to the Magnolia State. After graduating from MSU with her B.S. in Microbiology, she moved to Memphis to obtain her M.D. at UTHSC. While studying for her medical degree, she developed a passion for caring for patients across the lifespan, which led her to pursue training in Med/Peds. When outside of the hospital, you can find Dr. Shepherd spending time with her partner Sam and their dog Apollo, enjoying the amazing Memphis food scene (especially Aldo’s), and cheering on her Alma Mater! She is interested in becoming a combined hospitalist and is excited to continue to train in the place that made her fall in love with Med/Peds!

Micah Zimmerer, DO

Bio
Dr. Zimmerer was born in Eustace, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University, where he earned dual undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Nutrition. He went on to complete his medical education at the Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is married to his wife, an MRI technologist, and together they enjoy cooking, running, watching the Dallas Stars, and spending time reading or playing board games. They are excited to continue their lives in Memphis, Tennessee.
