Application Process
All applications must be submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and applicants must participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
A complete application should include:
- Current photograph (passport-style or professional headshot)
- Personal statement describing professional goals and interest in vascular surgery
- Medical school transcript
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) / Dean’s letter
- USMLE or COMLEX-USA scores (passing Step 1, 2 [CK], and 3 required)
- Three letters of recommendation — one must be from your General Surgery Program Director
Eligibility requirements include:
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program (or being on track to complete by fellowship start).
- Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified by the time fellowship begins.
- For international medical graduates: valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate is required.
International Medical Graduate Requirements
- You must have a valid ECFMG certificate.
- We offer a J1 Visa only. Please do not submit an application to our program if you require an (H) visa.
- Graduation from ACGME accredited Medical School within the last 5 years.
Application Timeline & Interview Process
- Applications must be submitted through ERAS before the stated deadline (check annual ERAS timeline; late applications generally will not be considered).
- All submitted applications are reviewed by the program leadership; selected candidates will be invited for interview via email.
Interview day typically includes:
- Program overview
- Faculty interviews
- Facilities tour
- Lunch with current fellows
Travel Accommodations
- Travel accommodations are not provided; however, transportation from a recommended hotel to campus on interview day will be arranged for invited applicants.
