Academic Programs
The Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences program offers Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in medicinal chemistry, bioanaylsis, pharmaceutics, and phamacometrics.
The PharmD/PhD Dual Degree program combines the existing PharmD and PhD programs currently based in the College of Pharmacy and the College of Graduate Health Sciences. Students accepted into the program may choose to pursue a PharmD degree and a PhD in either Health Outcomes and Policy Research or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
This innovative program for highly qualified applicants is designed to reduce the total time needed for completion while maintaining the high standards for both programs individually. It is intended to increase the number of highly trained clinician-researchers that can operate at the interface of basic research and clinical care to facilitate a faster translation of medical innovations into benefits for patients.
Student pharmacists interested in a Health Informatics and Information Management foundation can pursue a certificate rather than a degree. This certificate, offered in partnership with the UTHSC College of Health Professions, provides student pharmacists with the basic skills needed to practice in an electronic healthcare environment.
