Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Artangela Henry is a nurse practitioner with certifications in Adult Gerontology,
Acute Care and Family Practice. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and later pursued a career in nursing and
obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Tennessee Health
Science Center. Her desire for health care development, patient education, treatment
of complex disease processes and improved patient outcomes led her to obtain a Masters
in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctorate in Nursing
Practice with a concentration in Adult Gerontology-Acute Care, both from the University
of Tennessee Health Science Center.
She has clinical experience in internal medicine, acute care services and underserved
outpatient population centers. Her focus is preventative care, management, and research
of sickle cell disease in the adult population. Dr. Henry has more than 15 years of
experience in the health care field with the most recent years devoted to understanding
and educating on the natural history of sickle cell disease and involvement as co-investigator
in clinical research.
