St. Jude and UTHSC Partnership:
The hospital has a close relationship with UTHSC, as many St. Jude patients will be seen by UT faculty members. The Biomedical Sciences Program at UTHSC also allows students to shape their doctoral research education in partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Dr. Neil Hayes, Division Chief at UTHSC Hematology and Oncology, is an Adjunct Faculty at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in the Department of Computational Biology. Several research collaborations are established between members of the division and St. Jude, including a multidisciplinary effort aiming to develop tools and therapies to cure fibrolamellar carcinoma, a rare liver cancer.
