The Statewide Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine holds accreditation to sponsor educational programs and conferences for practicing physicians from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
Robert Fore, EdD, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, including Statewide CME, leads the University's CME efforts at all campuses. The ACCME accreditation provides all UTHSC College of Medicine campuses with the authority to provide continuing medical education for physicians and award CME credits to other medical professionals.
In 2021, the Chattanooga Office of CME provided oversight and documentation for all CME activities across the UT Statewide System:
CME/CE credits - The Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) at University of Tennessee College of Medicine (UTCOM) Chattanooga certifies educational activities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits and AAFP Prescribed Credits, and issues certificates of attendance that count as CEU's and other continuing education credits to non-physicians for attending.
Scope - The Office of CME at the UTCOM Chattanooga certifies educational activities for CME credit whenever the target audience is Tennessee physicians and the educational content meets the CME content requirements.
