Pi Theta Epsilon

Pi Theta Epsilon (PTE) is an honor society for both occupational students and alumni. The goal of PTE is to promote research and scholarship to occupational therapy students. Nationally and at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Master of Occupational Therapy Program, PTE recognizes and encourages scholastic excellence, contributes to the field of occupational therapy through scholarly activities, and provides a means for collaboration between other students and alumni.

Currently, Pi Theta Epsilon’s mission is to support the practice of occupational sciences and the practice of authentic occupational therapy by promoting research, leadership, and scholarly activities by its members. In this way, the organization serves not only the profession, but helps to ensure quality health care services for the general public.

The program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is home to the Delta Zeta Chapter. This chapter includes:

  • Leadership opportunities for PTE members
  • Fundraisers to support PTE and AOTF’s St. Catherine’s Challenge
  • Monthly PTE Delta Zeta chapter hosted journal clubs open to all UTHSC students for professional development
