Chattanooga Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery Faculty

Bryce Cunningham

Bryce Cunningham, MD

Bryce Cunningham finished his orthopaedic traumatology fellowship education at the University of Texas in Houston, and joined our faculty in 2017. He is a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri, after which he completed his orthopaedic residency here in Chattanooga at the University of Tennessee. He was recently promoted to the position of Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Trauma. He brings with him experience in small-wire frame application for fracture malunion and nonunions. Likewise, he has a passion for teaching and has joined the AOTNA trauma faculty.

 

Warren Gardner II

Ren Gardner received his orthopaedic traumatology fellowship education at Vanderbilt University. He graduated from of the Medical University of South Carolina and then subsequently completed his orthopaedic residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in affiliation with Michigan State University.

Dr. Gardner joined the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2010. He is the faculty supervisor of the monthly resident M&M conference and also serves on the AO Trauma Faculty teaching circuit, where he recently was awarded the Howard Rosen Table Instructor Teaching Award. Dr. Gardner became the Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship Director in 2020.

 

Dirk Kiner

Dirk Kiner completed his orthopaedic traumatology fellowship at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic residency at Henry Ford Health System. In 2007, he joined the University of Tennessee College of Medicine faculty in Chattanooga, where he has repeatedly earned the annual faculty teaching award.

Dr. Kiner is principal investigator on several orthopaedic trauma studies, having previously been the Research Director for UTCOM Chattanooga. He became the Orthopaedic Trauma Residency Rotation Director for the UTCOM Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2019. Additionally, Dirk is an active AO Trauma Faculty lecturer. 

 

Mike Yee, MD

Michael Yee completed his orthopaedic traumatology fellowship here at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. He is a graduate of the SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic residency at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2020, he joined the ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Then in 2023, he joined the University of Tennessee College of Medicine faculty in Chattanooga.
