Hospitalist Track
The hospitalist track is designed to prepare residents to work as a hospitalist after completing residency. The required and suggested electives have been chosen to increase knowledge and familiarity with common conditions that a hospitalist will encounter in both a community hospital and large academic centers. Residents can opt into the track at any time during their training, but the recommendation is to opt in prior to PGY-2 to maximize elective time. Dr. James Wahl will serve as co-advisor to residents opting into the hospitalist track.
Residents on the hospitalist track are not exempt from meeting outpatient visit numbers and will scheduled for an outpatient clinic elective if visit numbers are not on track to meet graduation requirements.
