Speech-Language Pathology
The CDD’s Scottish-Rite Communication Disorders Clinic provides comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, and communication abilities for children with a range of developmental concerns. Our Speech-Language Pathologist specializes in the assessment and diagnosis of both speech and language delays, social communication challenges, and related neurodevelopmental differences, such as autism spectrum disorder. As part of a multidisciplinary team, we frequently collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines to ensure a comprehensive and integrated understanding of each child’s development and treatment needs.
Our evaluation process includes gathering information from a range of sources, utilizing multiple measures, taking thorough histories, and interacting firsthand with children in both structured and play settings. Our process also values the development of individualized and evidence-based recommendations. At the Center on Developmental Disabilities, we are committed to providing care that respects and supports each child’s unique profile of strengths and support needs. In line with family-centered care, we engage caregivers throughout the evaluation process, collaborating with them to identify meaningful goals and determine appropriate next steps for intervention, support in the home, and education planning. As a teaching and training facility, this clinic also offers supervision and observation experiences for students.
