Marquita Nelson, MD

Dr. Marquita Nelson is an Assistant Professor of Medicine of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Medical Director of the Methodist Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center. She completed medical school and Internal Medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine. Following this, she was a hospitalist for 1 year prior to hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Chicago.  Dr. Nelson joined the Methodist University Hospital Sickle Cell Clinic in August 2020. Dr. Nelson is interested in care of people with sickle cell disease of all ages, particularly older adults. She strives to improve the quality of life for those living with sickle cell disease.
