Fellow Life

More Than Fellowship

At University of Tennessee Health Sciences, Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship is more than advanced clinical training. Our fellows become part of a close-knit community that values collaboration, mentorship, wellness, and lifelong friendships. Whether working together in the emergency department, celebrating milestones, or spending time outside the hospital, fellows support one another throughout their training experience.

A Strong Fellowship Community

Our program fosters a culture where fellows and faculty genuinely enjoy working together. A strong sense of community and collaboration allows for meaningful relationships, personalized mentorship and a supportive learning environment.

Social gatherings, fellowship celebrations, and team-building activities throughout the year create opportunities to connect outside the clinical setting. These experiences help strengthen the camaraderie that is essential to success in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Living in Memphis

Memphis offers an affordable cost of living, a vibrant culture, and countless opportunities for recreation and entertainment. Fellows enjoy exploring the city's renowned food scene, live music, professional sports, parks, museums, and family-friendly attractions.

Located along the Mississippi River and within easy driving distance of lakes, hiking trails, and outdoor recreation areas, Memphis provides ample opportunities for weekend adventures and time away from work. Whether enjoying a day on the water, attending local events, or discovering new neighborhoods, fellows find many ways to make Memphis feel like home.

Wellness and Work-Life Balance

We recognize the importance of maintaining balance during fellowship training. Fellows are encouraged to prioritize their physical and mental well-being while taking advantage of opportunities to spend time with friends, family, and colleagues.

From outdoor excursions and community events to informal gatherings and celebrations, fellowship life includes experiences that support wellness and create lasting memories. Our goal is to help fellows thrive both professionally and personally throughout their training journey.

Celebrating Success

Graduation is a special milestone that reflects years of dedication, growth, and achievement. We proudly celebrate the accomplishments of our fellows and the lasting impact they make on the children and families they serve. The friendships formed, experiences shared, and memories created during fellowship often continue long after training is complete.
