Developing and supporting multidisciplinary research and training in neuroscience at UT Health Sciences since 1985.

The Neuroscience Institute (NI) brings together more than 150 faculty, clinicians, staff, and students across 13 basic science and clinical departments within the UT Health Sciences College of Medicine, as well as five additional UT Health Sciences colleges and the Memphis research community. The NI fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to advance research, education, and clinical innovation in the field of neuroscience.

Areas of Support:

Our Research Core Facilities

The Neuroscience Institute invests in cutting-edge research technology through matched funding for multi-user equipment. We also help sustain these resources by supporting maintenance and repair costs, enabling uninterrupted, high-quality research.

Our Students

The Neuroscience Institute is committed to developing future leaders in neuroscience. We support graduate student recruitment, offer competitive matching funds for postdoctoral fellows, and invest in undergraduate talent at Rhodes College and Christian Brothers University through neuroscience merit scholarships.

Our Faculty

The Neuroscience Institute promotes collaboration between our faculty and advances innovation through pilot project research awards, empowering faculty to pursue new ideas and expand the impact of their work.
