Message from the Executive Vice Chancellor

Dear Colleagues,

After a very gratifying 25 years of service to you and the UT Health Science Center, it is time for me to announce my retirement. While I will be leaving my day-to-day activities at the university on February 28, I have chosen to phase out my service to UTHSC by continuing to shepherd through a few larger projects through the end of June.

I cannot begin to thank you all enough for the warmth I have felt over the better part of almost three decades. And although I will not miss the 300ish daily emails, I will very much miss the interactions on campus that have resulted in some of my most cherished relationships.

I am beyond proud of the growth that has happened across our campus since 1998. From creating a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center to the completion of numerous capital projects (including the Translational Science Research Building, the Pharmacy Building, the CHIPS Building, the Historic Quadrangle, and soon the Delta Dental of Tennessee Building) to bringing Chick-fil-A and Starbucks to the Madison Plaza Food Court, this campus continues to flourish. I am excited to see how this forward momentum evolves over the coming years.

Thank you for affording me the latitude to serve the university in several roles over the years, but especially as your Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Operations Officer. I have truly enjoyed serving you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brown the Executive Vice Chancellor's signature
