From prevention to restoration, what are the big updates in managing the carious process in pediatric dentistry? What are the new ideas in caries management: active surveillance, silver diamine fluoride, selective caries removal, and the power of the dental sealant all in the environment of the dental home. What happens when our best preventive efforts fail? We’ll discuss the durability, safety, and efficacy of various restorative materials and how to ensure adequate pain control for the incipient to moderate carious lesions. For advanced lesions: what are the options for successful pulp therapy? How do you manage pain in the age of opioid addiction? Finally, exciting advances in technology and their applications to pediatric dentistry will be reviewed.
