Hometown: Charlotte, NC

Undergraduate: Furman University

Medical School: Medical University of South Carolina

Why I Chose OB/GYN: My affinity for OB/GYN is a combination of multiple factors. I am drawn to the combination of clinical care, inpatient work, high acuity situations, and surgery. I also am excited by the fact that OB/GYNs have the ability to make lasting and genuine connections with patients spanning adolescence to older age.

Why I Chose Chattanooga: I really enjoyed my interview day and was impressed with the depth of training the residents receive. The residents spoke how thoroughly confident they feel they are surgically trained. I hope to work in private practice upon completion of residency, potentially with a focus in GYN surgeries, so it is important for me to feel comprehensively well-trained by the end of my four years. It was also essential to me that the residents in the program get along with each other and enjoy spending time together. The community I have had surrounding me throughout medical school has made these past four years more fun and enjoyable than I could have imagined and I hope to find a similar sense of kinship within my residency program.

OB/GYN Areas of Interest: general practice, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, obstetrics

Hobbies: All things sports-related including cheering on the Carolina Panthers, following Real Madrid, watching PGA golf, and setting my two fantasy football lineups; spending time with my friends by going on walks, riding bikes, or trying new restaurants; attending trivia nights, especially those surrounding my favorite show, The Office; utilizing my interior design skills to help spruce up my friends’ or my own home; completing jigsaw puzzles and playing foosball; traveling and exploring new places; needlepointing
