Why I Chose OB/GYN: I chose OB/GYN because I feel passionate about women's healthcare, and I love caring
for and building strong relationship with female patients. I also chose OB/GYN because

between being in the clinic, OR, and hospital.
Why I Chose Chattanooga: I was bledded with the opportunity to do an away rotation at Chattanooga and immediately
fell in love with both the peopl and the exemplary training the program offers. The

Why I Chose OB/GYN: I really love the variety that OBGYN has to offer. You can be in the OR, clinic and
labor and delivery all in the same day. I truly enjoy all the subspecialties, which
I believe is really important since I want to be a generalist.
Why I Chose Chattanooga: I did a 4th year away rotation here and fell in love with this program. The people,
including residents and faculty, were all so kind and welcoming. I also believe that
the wide exposure to diagnoses and the acuity seen here will help prepare me for after
residency.
OB/GYN Areas of Interest: Generalist
Hobbies: spending time with my family and dogs, hiking, water sports/swimming, reading, traveling
Rebekka Delgado, MD

Why I Chose OB/GYN: OBGYN is the perfect combination of clinical contiuity with patients, office based
procedures, and surgical procedures. I want to walk with my patients through every
step of their life, from menarche to menopause and everything in between. I am also
very passionate about women's health and advocacy and am proud to empower women to
make choices about their reproductive health.
Why I Chose Chattanooga: I had the opportunity to do an away rotation here as a fourth year medical student
and loved the culture of the program. We get great exposure to all facets of the specialty
and surgical exposure early on. I truly think that this program will train me to be
a competent, confident OBGYN upon graduation.
OB/GYN Areas of Interest: Adolescent reproductive education, underserved communities, reproductive advocacy
Hobbies: Hiking/ exploring the outdoors with my husband and two dogs, travelling, trying new
restaurants, baking (macarons are my favorite thing to make).

Hometown: Bozeman, MT
Undergraduate: Montana State University
Medical School: Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences
Why I Chose OB/GYN: I did not know I wanted to do OB/GYN when I started medical school, but after my OB/GYN
rotation, I knew I had found my perfect fit. Finding a specialty that allowed for
surgery in the mornings, clinic in the afternoon, all while delivering babies in between
is so exciting. And having the opportunity to take care of women across their lifespan
while being and educator and advocate made it that much more appealing to me.
Why I Chose Chattanooga: I did an away rotation here and was excited by everything Chattanooga had to offer.
There is such a diverse patient population with high-acuity needs, I knew I would
receive great training. Not to mention I would be joining some pretty great co-residents!
OB/GYN Areas of Interest: So far generalist, but I love the obstetrical niche so we will see!
Hobbies: Hiking, fishing, brunching, binge watching Netflix.

Why I Chose Chattanooga: I chose Chattanooga because of the extensive surgical training curriculum and high
acuity patient population. Coming from the West Coast, training here is an opportunity
to learn regional differences and gain greater perspective.
OB/GYN Areas of Interests: immediate post-placental contraception, cost-effectiveness, health policy, abortion
access in legally restricted settings, breastfeeding medicine.
