Annemarie Anglim

Hometown: Maryville, TN

Undergraduate: Appalachian State University

Medical School: Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (Blacksburg, VA)

Why I Chose OB/GYN: While pursuing my undergraduate degree in Anthropology, I completed a thesis on the history of midwifery in western North Carolina, which led to my interest in pursuing women's health. During medical school, I was able to do research in antepartum substance abuse and neonatal outcomes, and finally I just came to the conclusion that OB/GYN was the best field. Since residency, I have enjoyed the complexity of maternal health complications during pregnancy as well as labor management, obstetrical critical care, and sonography.

Why I Chose Chattanooga: My husband was already living and working in Chattanooga for about 3 years before I started residency. Since being here together, we have fallen in love with the endless outdoor activities and enjoyed lots of great music events. The area is expanding rapidly with lots of young couples and families that are invested in the culture and development of our city.

OBGYN Areas of Interest: high risk obstetrics, morbidly adherent placenta, diabetes management during pregnancy, maternal cardiac disease

Hobbies: cycling, pottery, hanging with my dogs
