Orientation

Every other Monday, The Office of Human Resource hosts New Hire Orientation (NHO) for new University employees. During the training, new staff members are acquainted with University policies and procedures and given an introduction to the University.

Throughout the day, staff members will receive information from the University's main departments and divisions regarding:

  • University Administrative policies and procedures
  • Information Technology Services
  • Campus Safety and Security
  • Benefits and Insurance Overview
  • Faculty and Staff Assistance Programs
  • Office of Equity & Diversity Services

Orientation will begin promptly at 9:00 am and conclude by 2:00 pm. Orientation will be held at 910 Madison Avenue-Suite WP012 1st Floor. You should arrive a few minutes early to sign in, pick up materials, and get settled. If you are driving on the first day, you may park in H Garage at the corner of Madison and Pauline. Parking will be validated at the close of orientation. Please be sure to bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

Onboarding Forms


If you are a newly hired employee, please select the appropriate link as it pertains to your Employment Classification (e.g., Staff, Faculty). After the forms have been completed, you may submit the forms by using the UT Secure Emailing Vault System or return them to the Human Resources office in person located at 910 Madison Avenue, Suite WP012, 1st Floor.

The Online I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification must be completed no more than 25 days before the official start date. If the form is completed more than 25 days before the official start date, the I-9 will automatically be purged and a new form will have to be completed. You are required to provide proof of identity documents to accompany the I-9 on or before your first day of employment.

How does an employee have their name changed in the payroll system?
The employee needs to submit a copy of their social security card to payroll along with a Personal Data Form.
How does an employee complete change of address?
The employee needs to complete a Personal Data Form with the updated address and submit it to Human Resources or the Payroll Office.
How does an employee update their education in the payroll system?
Official transcripts from accredited schools or universities must be mailed directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Human Resources. The mailing address is: University of Tennessee Health Science Center - Human Resources - 910 Madison Avenue, Suite 722, Memphis, TN 38163.
How does an employee view their personnel file?
To schedule a time to review your personnel file - contact human resources at 901.448.5600 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. You must have a valid Tennessee State identification or your University identification when you arrive to view your file.
