Hamda Almaazmi, MD
Senior Vascular Surgery Fellow

Bio
Dr. Almaazmi completed medical school at the University of Sharjah before pursuing research training at Johns Hopkins University. She went on to complete her general surgery residency at George Washington University, where she developed interests in medical education and clinical outcomes research. Her academic work has focused on improving surgical care delivery and fostering educational environments that enhance resident learning. She enjoys exploring history, running, and contributing to ongoing clinical research efforts within the division.

Benjamin Dixson, MD
Senior Vascular Surgery Fellow

Bio
Dr. Dixson completed his medical school at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, General surgery training at Christiana Care, Newark, where he served in multiple leadership and research roles. His academic work spans trauma resuscitation, whole-blood protocols, thoracoabdominal injury imaging, and opioid stewardship. He brings a strong longterm commitment to global surgery, with service trips to Albania, Togo, and Sierra Leone. Outside of the hospital he is an avid athlete, cook, and devoted husband and father.

Brian McCluskey, MD
Junior Vascular Surgery Fellow

Bio
Dr. McCluskey joined UTHSC after completing general surgery residency at Atrium Health Navicent/Mercer University, and medical school at Medical College of Gerorgia at Augusta University. He has presented regionally and nationally on trauma and emergency general surgery topics and has published research involving retroperitoneal abscess management and pediatric trauma. He brings a strong service background, including global mission work in Nicaragua and Tanzania. Outside medicine he enjoys kayaking, competitive barbeque events, birdwatching, and playing banjo.

Sunny Patel, DO, MS
Junior Vascular Surgery Fellow

Bio
Dr. Patel completed his general surgery residency at Samaritan Health in Oregon, where he cultivated interests in complex vascular disease, clinical outcomes, and multidisciplinary limb salvage. He completed medical school at Alabama College of OstropathicOsteopathic Medicine. Born and raised in California, he brings a broad set of personal passions including music, cooking, pet care, and travel. He hopes to integrate high-quality vascular care with compassionate patient education throughout his clinical career.
