Resident Research

Each resident is required to select a research topic for presentation in the PGY-3 year. Opportunities are available for residents who elect to participate in one of the ongoing research programs in the department. In May, the department sponsors The Annual Bradford Kincheloe Visiting Professor Lecture and Resident Research Forum. Papers are presented by each resident to the department, friends and family, and a distinguished visiting professor. This year’s forum was held virtually and the 2021 distinguished visiting professor featured Dr. Karen Scott, Associate Professor, OB Hospitalist & Applied Epidemiologist, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology  & Reproductive Sciences, School of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco, California. Dr. Scott also participated as one of this year’s judges along with Dr. Brian Bocato, Assistant Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Dipen Kadaria, Associate Professor, Program Director, and Director of ILD/ Sarcoidosis Program Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep, UTHSC Memphis, and Dr. Michael Ulm, Assistant Professor, Division of Gynecologic Oncology, UTHSC and the West Cancer Center and Research Institute, Memphis, TN.  Our resident winners this year were Dr. Marieme Racine and Dr. Deepa Etikala.
