Funding Opportunities

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has 2 internal funding sources for residents, fellows and junior faculty. Other outside funding for REI fellows research is available.

OBGYN Research Fund

Created by Dr. Billy Kutteh and colleagues at the Infertility Associates, this fund provides 2-3 research grants of $1000-$2000 to residents, fellows, and junior faculty. A committee selects which projects to fund and how much to offer. Resident Research Fund Application

Meyer-Phillips Research and Educational Fund

This endowment was begun by Drs. Norman Meyer and Owen Phillips to provide research funding and educational opportunity funding to residents and fellows. Examples include monies to offset travel costs to meetings where research will be presented, courses approved by leadership, and grants for research. SREI Young Investigator Award ($40,000)

The SREI Fellow's Young Investigator Research Award, supported by Ferring Pharmaceuticals, funds research projects for REI fellows, specifically targeting those in their first or second year of an ACGME-accredited program. The award supports basic science, clinical, or translational research related to reproductive health diagnoses.

ASRM Diversity Fellowship Award ($15,000)

The ASRM Diversity Fellowship Award ($15,000) from the ASRM Research Institute designed for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility {REI) fellows from underrepresented backgrounds. It supports research projects focusing on clinical outcomes, health disparities, or access to care to improve reproductive health, with applications accepted from fellows identifying as individuals of color, LGBTQ+, or individuals with disabilities. 

The Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Association (RPLA) ($40,000)

The Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Association (RPLA) in partnership with ASRM Research Institute offers an annual research award over two years to support innovative studies on the causes, diagnosis, and management of recurrent pregnancy loss. The grant focuses on advancing reproductive medicine and enhancing understanding of RPL pathogenesis.
