Description: The UTHSC College of Nursing, Department of Health Promotion & Disease Prevention, invites applications for the full-time position of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Le Bonheur Children?s Outpatient Center in Jackson, TN. Academic rank shall be commensurate with academic credentials.

Planning and directing the delivery of healthcare and health education programs in association with Methodist Healthcare Primary Care Associates (MHPCA). Responsibilities will include:
1. Provide care in the assigned center in accordance with approved protocol and standards.
2. Perform necessary procedures according to protocols developed with and under the supervision of the Medical Director/collaborating Physician.
3. Collaborates with Medical Physician and ancillary personnel as appropriate.
4. Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care.
5. Develops strong partnership with patients, family members, fellow physicians/nurses and support staff.
6. In addition, 5% educational responsibilities will be determined with Department Chair.
Current RN and APN license in Tennessee, completion of a master?s degree or higher in a nursing specialty (demonstrated through certification as a nurse practitioner), and current DEA certification and three (3) years of clinical practice experience at the RN level are required. All degrees must be from an accredited program. Must have basic computer skills.

Candidate must have the ability to react quickly to emergency situations; excellent communication skills; and must be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
