Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the College of Health Professions, invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track eligible position Assistant/Associate Professor (rank to be commensurate with education and credentials) to contribute to UTHSC?s research, teaching and service missions. Primary teaching responsibilities include instruction in research methods, molecular and cell biology, and supervising research projects for students in the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) and the Master of Cytopathology Practice (MCP) programs. Applicants must hold an earned terminal Ph.D. degree with an active and funded research program using modern approaches in cell and molecular biology and histology, strong publication record of peer-reviewed publications, and evidence of successful mentoring of doctoral and master?s students? research projects to be considered for this position. Applicants with a muscle wasting research focus that is induced by stroke, cardiovascular disease, aging or cancer are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, startup funding and research laboratory space.
