Description: The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applicants to apply for a 12-month, Assistant/Associate Professor, tenure track faculty position. Responsibilities include participation in teaching, scholarship, clinical practice/service.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is located in the heart of a large urban medical complex in Memphis, TN. Memphis is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, and is the ??home of the Blues and Birthplace of Rock ?n? Roll.?
Established in 1911, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is the flagship statewide academic health system and part of the land grant University of Tennessee system. UTHSC is made up of 6 colleges: Health Professions, Dentistry, Graduate Health, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy. The Department of Physical Therapy was established in 1965 and presently offers a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. The department has an on-campus faculty practice conveniently located to allow faculty, staff, and students to receive physical therapy services.
Qualifications: Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in physical therapy in the state of Tennessee and have at least 5 years of experience. PhD or EdD and teaching experience required. Preferred teaching expertise includes: pediatrics, cardiovascular pulmonary, pharmacology, or prosthetics and orthotics.
Research experience including a record of funded grants is preferred.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
