The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a premiere academic health science center. As clinicians and researchers, we believe that our patients deserve world-class evidence-based care. As such, we conduct cutting edge research to advance women’s health through inquiry and innovation while striving to address disparities and overcome social barriers to optimal health.

Encourage research at all levels within the Department including: faculty, fellows, residents, medical students, midwives, and nursing staff
Contribute to the scientific literature and grow in national recognition.

Partnerships


In the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, we collaborate with Regional One Health, West Cancer Center, St. Jude Hospital to conduct patient-centered translational research. We also work with departments across the University of Tennessee system including our Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga campuses, as well as the UT Health Science Center Departments of Public Health, Medicine, Pediatrics, and Neonatology. We also have a curated portfolio of industry-sponsored research projects to advance innovation in our field.
