Telecommute as Much as Possible
June 30, 2020
Please be aware that the COVID-19 case count continues to rise at record-breaking
levels each day across Tennessee, and especially in Shelby County. UTHSC has felt
the rise in cases, with several new cases affecting our campus in the last two weeks.
Supervisors, if your employees are able to work from home, please allow them to do
so. Telecommuting will help keep the campus population down, and therefore minimize the
transmission of COVID-19 on campus.
Employees, if you must come to campus, minimize your contact with other people. Conduct meetings via Zoom or Teams instead of in person. Continue to wear a mask,
maintain social distancing, wash hands, and use hand sanitizer regularly.
If you test positive for COVID-19, or have had close contact with someone who has
tested positive, please report that to Human Resources via their Notice of COVID-19 Occurrence Form. Please visit the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Employee Guidance website to address questions regarding what to do if you become sick, leave and pay procedures,
expectations for essential employees, information on telecommuting, changes to the
hiring process, etc.
If you have any questions, please contact Human Resources at 901.448.5600 or hr@uthsc.edu.
