Installing the Cisco VPN Client for Windows operating systems
Note:If you have a 64 bit Windows operating system, you need different instructions. If you don’t know if you have a 64 bit operating system, you probably don’t have one. Please just follow the directions below.
1.) The installer for the Cisco VPN can be downloaded here. Enter your Net ID username and password to get to the download. Once you authenticate, click “Run” on the button as shown below.
2.)The installation application will unzip. You will see a screen that indicates the program is unzipping followed by the screen below. Click “Next” to Continue.
3.) Read and then accept the license agreement to continue.
4.)On the next screen, just click “Next” to proceed.
5.)The installation process will commence. At the end of the process the screen below will appear. Click “Finish”.
6.)On the next screen, click “Yes” if you are ready to reboot the computer. The workstation will reboot.
7.) After your computer has rebooted, click on Start, browse to Programs, and find “Cisco Systems VPN Client”. Activate the “VPN Client” as shown below.
8.) Go under the “Connection Entries” drop down menu to “Import.
9.) Look in the program folder where the Cisco VPN program was installed and select “UTHSC.pcf”. Click the “Open” button.
10.) You should immediately see the pop up screen shown below:
11.) Back at the main window, double click on the “UTHSC” under “Connection Entry” to start the Cisco VPN application. You may delete the utmem value if you choose. You won’t be using it anymore.
12.) When the screen below comes up enter your UTHSC e-mail username and password and click OK.
13.)You should see the screen below. Click “Continue” to start UTHSC VPN services.
