BANNER User Access Request Instructions

These instructions for requesting Banner access are for UTHSC staff and faculty only. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to an incomplete request which will delay the processing. Incomplete requests will be deleted and notification will be sent back to the requesting supervisor. Completed requests are processed within 2-3 working days. Banner Navigation Training is held as needed. Special one-on-one training sessions will only be provided due to special circumstances.

To formally request Banner access, please fill out the INB Access Request Form.

For efficiency in processing, please have the following pieces of information available to complete the electronic Banner Access Request Form:

  • Name of Employee for whom access is requested
  • NetID of Employee’s Supervisor
  • Brief description of Banner-related duties (admission processing, grade submission, etc.)
  1. The user’s supervisor will request access through the use of the most current “Banner Access Request Form”. The user’s information must be complete and correct. An incomplete request will delay the process.  Thus, resulting in the deletion of the request followed by notifying the requesting supervisor.
  2. A completed request is processed within 2-3 working days.
  3. It is highly recommended that the user has had ‘FERPA” and “Information Security Awareness” training.  For more information on those trainings, see FERPA Essentials for Faculty Training and Information Security Training.
  4. After approval and final processing the supervisor will be notified and asked to schedule Banner Navigation Training for the user.  If disapproved, the requesting supervisor will be notified via email and phone. One-on-one training sessions are provided under special circumstances.
