Helpful Hints for Safe Computing

  • Do not open any email from someone whom they do not know - and even then, you should be careful about launching attachments.
  • NEVER provide solicited information via phone or email or web unless you initiated the communication.
  • You must run the required, free anti-virus software provided by the university in order to be on the UTHSC network.
  • You should consider running a firewall software (Sygate, BlackIce, ZoneAlarm are a few).
