Eunice Huang, MD, MS, FACS, FAAP, attended college at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. After studying medicine at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, she completed her general surgery residency at the Los Angeles County and University of Southern California Medical Center. She then came to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery at the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. Following her fellowship training, she accepted a position as assistant professor of surgery at UTHSC.

Dr. Huang has a Master's in Epidemiology through the UTHSC Department of Preventive Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Association for Academic Surgery, American Pediatric Surgical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics - Section on Surgery, American Medical Association, Association of Women Surgeons and the American Medical Informatics Association.

Dr. Huang's research focuses on improving the effectiveness, efficiency and consistency of care for common pediatric surgical diseases (such as appendicitis, inguinal hernia, necrotizing enterocolitis, etc.) by standardizing processes and measuring the effectiveness and cost of care for these processes over time. To promote adoption of best practices across institutions and regions. Additionally, her focus is on improving patient engagement and capture of patient generated health data by creating innovative patient facing applications. To effectively use electronic health record data for research and knowledge generation by improving extraction, storage, harmonization and analysis of data.
