Ugochi Ogu

Dr. Ogu is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), and the Medical Director of the Diggs-Kraus Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center. She obtained her medical degree at Windsor University School of Medicine in the West Indies, completed residency in Pediatrics at the University of Iowa, and fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medicine. Following this, she joined faculty at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, and Assistant Director of the Sickle Cell Center for Adults. In August 2019, Dr Ogu became faculty at UTHSC and joined Regional One Health as the Medical Director of the Diggs-Kraus Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center. Her clinical interest focuses on sickle cell disease and transition of care from pediatrics to adult.
