Curriculum Vitae

Cindi grew up in a military family and lived mostly in the eastern United States until settling in Memphis in 2001 and has called Memphis her home ever since.

Dr. Cindi Dabney received an Associate’s degree from Gulf Coast Community College and her BSN from Florida State University.  After practicing as a SICU nurse for 8 years she furthered her education by attending the Gooding Institute of Nurse Anesthesia and earned a Master of Science degree with a major in Nurse Anesthesia.  Dr. Dabney practiced as a CRNA in the Memphis area for fourteen years before returning to complete her education at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2014.  At UTHSC she earned a Doctor of Nursing degree.  Dr. Dabney continues to practice in the Memphis area within the Methodist Healthcare System as a CRNA and is an Assistant Professor with UTHSC in the Nurse Anesthesia Concentration and teaches both didactic and clinical education.  Her areas of scholarship include innovative board preparation techniques along with general and obstetrical anesthesia. She also serves as the Assistant Director of Didactic Education and is a Sim Champion with the Simulation Center at UTHSC.  Her other services to the university include serving on the Faculty Senate and the Faculty Affairs Committee. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) and Tennessee Association of Nurse Anesthetists (TANA). She serves on the Education Committed for the TANA.
