Polling Software Replacement for Turning Point

Tom Laughner

The Teaching and Learning Center is looking for a polling software to replace TurningPoint. TurningPoint is an interactive polling technology used in the classroom for taking attendance, testing for general knowledge and team-based learning. This tool is used by the faculty and students at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center to engage with students here on campus as well as with students at University of Tennessee, Knoxville and University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. Some of the issues with TurningPoint are: 1) freezing up during presentations, 2) students complaining that their Clickers do not work and 3) students and faculty questioning the cost that the students must pay in order to use the technology. We would like a technology for our faculty and students to use that is reliable, stable, cost efficient and meets the needs of our faculty and students.
