Description: The Preston Medical Library at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee, is seeking applicants for a Research & Learning Services Librarian position. Rank shall be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:
1. Provides reference and research support services, and works collaboratively to deliver course-integrated instruction.
2. Guides faculty, staff, and students in the effective use of library services and resources.
3. Provides expert literature search services in a variety of databases.
4. Designs and teaches curriculum-integrated instruction sessions.
5. Creates online tutorials focused on library resources and information literacy skills.
6. Participates in the planning of library events and special projects.
7. Identifies client needs, and solicits input on library resources in specific disciplines.
8. Serves as library liaison to specific departments.
9. Supports reference and instruction for nurses in a Magnet environment.
10. Participates in the development and implementation of library services, policies, and procedures.
11. Participates in professional activities and professional development.
12. Other reference services as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree from an ALA accredited school; 1-2 years of experience in a health sciences library; Comprehensive knowledge of reference sources, and strong database searching skills; Strong service orientation, self-motivation, and the ability to multi-task; Experience designing and teaching library instruction classes; Demonstrated analytical, communication, and collaborative skills; Medical Library Association Academy of Health Information Professionals certification required within a year.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working as a clinical or liaison librarian; Demonstrated experience in providing education in the health sciences; Experience providing Consumer and Patient Health Information Service.
