Description: Non-tenured position available for a bariatric surgeon. Responsibilities include assisting the chairman and program director in planning and administrative functions of the program, teaching activities, and clinical research activities. Call is one night in seven. Practice includes comprehensive bariatric care including pre-op patient evaluation, bariatric surgical procedure and post operative care of the bariatric patient. Compensation includes a competitive salary, fringe benefits and private practice. Faculty rank commensurate with experience.
Qualifications: MD Degree or its equivalent, board certified in general surgery and additional training/certification in bariatric surgery. The Department of Surgery in Chattanooga sponsors 32 residents and 32 full-time faculty.
