Hematology & Oncology Fellowship
Message from the Program Director:
Learning should be hard work and learning should be fun. Training in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is both. Thats our job, to carry fellows through a rigorous training system that excites them about the science and practice of our profession and prepares them for the future of their educational dreams.
I can think of only a few things that are as fun as discovering and managing a treatable malignancy in a patient you care about, or reversing an autoimmune thrombocytopenia in a young mother or completing a research project and seeing your name on a published manuscript.
Our job as faculty is to get you to these points of success and beyond them to a career in Hematology and Oncology, whether it be private practice in the mountains of Oregon or bench research on acute leukemia in an academic center. I, personally, have never spent a day without learning something new and exciting from my work. The world of science is constantly unfolding before us and we get to be front line observers, at the same time touching and caring for suffering people at a time of their greatest need.
Come join us. It's quite a ride.
