Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech

Therapy programs are provided by physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology.  All treatment programs involve parent counseling and training regarding the child's condition as needed.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy provides evaluation and treatment to improve clients' fine motor skills and activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene, toileting, and play activities.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy services at the BCDD are provided by a licensed, specialized physical therapist that is specifically trained and experienced in treating children with developmental disabilities. Physical therapists are able to detect delays in mobility and movement, as well as to identify problems causing these delays. Children coming to physical therapy receive a play-based assessment that includes looking at range of motion, muscle strength, coordination, balance, motor planning, and sensory organization/integration.

Speech and Language Therapy

Therapy includes facilitation and stimulation of language development and remediation of articulation, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
