  • Adult neurogenic communication disorders (aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dementia, right hemisphere disorder, traumatic brain injury)
Dr. Ellen Hamby has been with UT since 2008.  She has more than 30 years of experience in assessing and treating adults with a variety of cognitive and communication disorders related to stroke, traumatic brain injury, and progressive degenerative diseases of the brain.  Dr. Hamby has particular expertise in managing mild traumatic brain injury and cognitive-communication difficulties associated with dementing illnesses.  Her patient care emphasizes individualized functional outcomes, education and counseling, and family/caregiver involvement. Dr. Hamby is a member of the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences.
