Joseph M. Gleason, M.D.

Assistant Professor, Pediatric Urology

Dr. Joseph Gleason completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame in 2002.  He received a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2006, upon which he moved to Los Angeles.  There, he completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at Kaiser Permanente, followed by a residency in Urology at Kaiser Permanente.  Upon completion of his general urology residency, Dr. Gleason focused on pediatric urology, completing a 2-year clinical and research fellowship in pediatric urology at The Hospital for Sick Children, in Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Gleason joined the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Department of Urology in 2014, and is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Urology.  He has authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters for current textbooks, and presented original research at many national and international meetings.  Dr. Gleason is an active staff member at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, as well as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and is a member of the American Urologic Association, The Society of Pediatric Urology, and the Society of Fetal Urology.
