UTHSC SACSCOC Accreditation Status

Since 1897, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has been continuously accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. As a matter or record, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee, Memphis (as the University of Tennessee Health Science Center was previously named), merged in 2000 for the purposes of accreditation. Prior to this date, the University of Tennessee, Memphis (i.e., the University of Tennessee Health Science Center) was accredited by SACSCOC from 1972 to 2000. At the present time the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is accredited as a component of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
