The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) was once independently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Since 1999, UTHSC has been included under the UT ("Big Orange") System accreditation that includes the University of Tennessee Knoxville, UT Institute of Agriculture, UT Institute for Public Service, and Tullahoma. Given the size, scope, annual budget and relative uniqueness and autonomy of UTHSC, it is time one again to secure separate accreditation. The efforts to secure separate accreditation will be ongoing and significant through the fall, 2015. Over the course of time there will be numerous opportunities for faculty, staff and students to be involved in the process and to learn of our progress.

Information provided on this website will be updated periodically as a means through which to keep the UTHSC community informed regarding our progress.
