Andrew Lichliter

Doing research over the summer after my M1 year was a great experience. By going through the NIH-MSRF program here at UTHSC, I was able to work on a project that I was interested in, and I didn't have to go far to find it. Dr. Bhattacharya and the rest of his staff were incredibly enthusiastic about helping the medical students coordinate a project, as well as resolve any problems that arose. The UTHSC faculty also strongly supports the student's presentation of their research projects at multiple venues, both close by and out of state. I strongly encourage students to take part in research at some point during their education process, and my experience has left me wanting to participate in clinical research later in school as well.
