Master of Science in Epidemiology Program | Biostatistics Track

What is It?

The Biostatistics track within the Masters of Science in Epidemiology Program offers a comprehensive set of courses covering theoretical, applied and computing areas of biostatistical science in order to provide clinical researchers with necessary methodological and analytical skills that cover hypothesis formulation, data collection, analysis and interpretation for various data types and research areas.

How is the Biostatistics Track Different?

Our program emphasizes the development of methodological and analytical skills, enabling graduates to become independent researchers.

Students receive training in:

  • Biostatistics
  • Applied Statistics (Categorical data, Linear Regression, Mixed Models, Survival Analysis)
  • Epidemiology

 With optional training in:

  • Clinical Trial Methods
  • Genetic Epidemiology
  • Epidemiology of Childhood Diseases
  • Data Science

What are the Minimum Degree Requirements for this Program?

  • 36 credit hours total
  • 24 credit hours in core required courses (includes 6 hrs for Master's thesis or research project)
  • 8 credit hours in core elective courses
  • 4 credit hours in elective courses
