Assistant Professor
(non-tenure track faculty position)

The Department of Physiology at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis invites outstanding scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2014. We are searching for a creative research scientist who utilizes C. elegans model system to study lipid modulation of ion channels relevant to the cardiovascular system. The successful candidate should have or will establish a strong extramurally-funded research program and also excel at teaching medical, dental, and graduate students. The Department of Physiology has outstanding research facilities. We will consider applicants in all areas of cardiovascular research. Significant laboratory space and a competitive salary with a generous incentive bonus are offered.

We are searching for creative cardiovascular research scientists who have or will establish a strong extramurally-funded research program and also excel at teaching medical, dental, and graduate students.

The Department of Physiology has outstanding research facilities and is currently ranked second nationally for extramural funding based on a 2010 study by the American Physiological Society. We will consider applicants in all areas of cardiovascular research. Significant laboratory space, a substantial start up package, and a competitive salary with a generous incentive bonus are offered.
