Wingate Awarded Dissertation Fellowship

Dr. La'Marcus Wingate (Ph.D. candidate) has been awarded a $28,000 dissertation fellowship through the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. Dr. Wingate's dissertation proposal was one of five chosen nationwide to receive this award in recognition of outstanding research proposals in the area of retirement research. The dissertation focuses on assessing the relative importance seniors place on different attributes within the Medicare Part D prescription drug plans and evaluating the economic value that seniors place on having these benefits in their prescription drug plans. Born and raised in Cheraw, South Carolina, Dr. Wingate was a 2007 graduate of the UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy where he served on the honor council all four years. Currently, Dr. Wingate is a Ph.D. candidate in the Health Outcomes and Policy Research graduate program within the UT College of Pharmacy.
