Alexandra Barnette serves on the National StuNet Advisory Committee
Alexandra Barnette serves on the National StuNet Advisory Committee, which is a standing committee composed of members appointed each year by the ACCP President. Last year, ACCP President-Elect, Dr. John Murphy, appointed her to a two-year position. During 2008-2009, she served as the Vice-Chair of the committee, and she is currently serving as Chair of the committee. One of the committee's principle goals is to reach out student pharmacists and promote the ideals and opportunities the profession of clinical pharmacy affords.
Last year, she led a subgroup to develop a novel national competition to be implemented by ACCP. During this summer, the Board of Regents accepted the proposal, and the first national competition will hopefully be at the Annual Meeting 2010. Alex will be assigned a task during the Annual Meeting in October for 2009-2010. Alex is from Knoxville, Tennessee and is the daughter of Howard Hensley and Mary Parker. She is married to Keller Barnette. For the last 3 years, Alex has worked at Accredo Pharmacy, a specialty mail-order pharmacy. After graduation, she plans to complete a pediatric residency.
